             August -The  month of Festivals

                         HOLI

You must be thinking, how many festivals can fit in one month? 1, 2 or Max 3!! Don't say you weren't thinking .

Well there are many which come in month of August namely- :-Janmashthami , Independence day, Ganesh Chaturti ,Raksha bandan  and finally Eid .

I will tell you guys a little bit of these 5 festivals:

1. Janmashthmi :- This festival is celebrated on the birth of lord Krishna. It is celebrated in the month of SAVAN

About Lord Krishna- He is the most mischievous of gods and he is known for that only !! His lessons to Arjuna  during the epic battle of  Mahabhrata is written in the form of  BhagatvatGita. ( I will tell in more  about him in the next blog)

2. Raksha bandan:-   This festival is celebrated as a symbol of the affection and care between a sister and brother.

Its story goes somewhat like this..During the epic war at Kurusheshtra (Mahabharta )

Lord Krishna's finger got injured while riding the chariot , so he headed back towards his camp . At camp stood Drupadi  . As soon as she saw  Krishna, she ran towards him and asked him for the reason for his return . He simply said his great return . Drupadi  quickly tore a piece of her Sari  and tied it to Krishna's finger . For her selfless act Krishna granted Drupadi A a promise to help in any bad situation.

3.Eid -ul-adha :- It is celebrated on the occasion of Ibrahim sacrificing his son's life,Ismael  at the gods order . But just before the sacrifice God sent a lamb instead .

4. Independence Day:- It is one of the greatest victories in and of India . It the day when India got freedom from the British rule on the day 15th August 1947 .

5.Ganesh Chaturti :- It is on the occasion of Ganesh's arrival on Earth along with his mother Parvati/Sati  .His arrival with great pomp in Mumbai .

Whatever this month has taught us is hard to put in words but any way I will still tell write.

1. Be positive about things.
